Well, I'm done with school, have a new job and a new calling, and the boys are playing baseball again. Maybe at some point I will actually post some of the pictures I took over the past two years -probably not. But hopefully I can at least keep up moving forward. I mean baseball only takes up two nights a week and all day Saturday.
Both Henry and Samuel had their first games this week. We're off to a good start with both teams getting their first win. Hopefully this will be a good year for both of them.
If you're interested in keeping track of their games, there is a scoreboard at the bottom of the page for each of them. What the scoreboard doesn't show you is that Samuel went 2-2 with an RBI single in the 4th that put his team up for good. It should have been a 3 RBI triple, but they have a 3 run rule so he only gets credit for a single and 1 RBI, but all three made it home and he was standing on 3rd base when the play ended.
Considering he never had a single at bat last year where the ball made it past the pitcher, the fact that he hit the ball hard enough to reach the fence and his little legs could get him all the way to third is really impressive.
Henry went 0-1 with a walk in his first AAA game. It was pretty impressive considering only one player on his team has a better On Base Percentage than he does.
One of his coaches wants him to pitch since he has a strong arm, but he doesn't want the pressure so he told them no. They went through 4 pitchers in the game and the last pitcher was reaching his pitch count. I was thinking they might not have any choice but to have Henry pitch just to get them out of the game. Lucky for Henry it didn't happen.
